Integrated cooker hoods

A built-in hood is fitted inside a cabinet so the upper run of units stays unbroken.

What to check

Cabinet size — the unit needs room for the motor and duct — check internal depth and where the duct exits.
Telescopic — a pull-out panel enlarges the capture area and usually switches the hood on.
Ducted or recirculating — recirculating needs a charcoal filter changed every 6–12 months.
Width — at least as wide as the hob.

Hidden in a cabinet

An integrated hood is fitted inside a kitchen cabinet so the upper run of units stays unbroken. From outside nothing shows but a narrow front panel, or nothing at all.

Telescopic

A telescopic model pulls out for use and pushes back afterwards. The extended panel increases the capture area, which improves extraction, and usually switches the appliance on automatically.

Cabinet dimensions

An integrated hood needs enough depth in the cabinet for the motor and the duct. Check both the internal cabinet measurement and where the duct will exit — that is the most common surprise during installation.
