What to check
- Charcoal filters — needed only in recirculating mode; replace every 6–12 months as a clogged filter cuts extraction noticeably.
- Grease filters — aluminium filters are washed regularly and most are dishwasher safe.
- Ducting — round and flat ducts, reducers, non-return valves and wall grilles.
- Airflow — duct diameter and the number of bends affect performance more than the motor rating.
