A separate freezer makes sense when you freeze a lot, or want the two zones in different places.

What to check

Drawers — clear drawers cut how long the door stays open, which is the biggest energy cost.
NoFrost — prevents frost so no defrosting is needed; in exchange the air is drier, so wrap food well.
Fast freeze — chills new food quickly without thawing what is already frozen.
Niche height — 88 cm fits under a worktop, 178 cm is a full-height cabinet.
