Washing machines and dryers built for a long life — you will find the same Miele and ASKO machines in laundrettes.

What to check

Drum capacity — 7–8 kg suits a smaller household, 9–10 kg a family and bedding.
Dryer type — a heat-pump dryer uses about half the power and is gentler; the cycle runs a little longer.
Stacking — needs the maker’s stacking kit — order it with the machines, not afterwards.
Noise and vibration — matters in a flat, or where the laundry shares a wall with a bedroom.
Connections — check where the water and drain sit, and which way the door opens.

Choosing a washing machine and dryer

Drum capacity

7–8 kg suits a household of one to three; 9–10 kg a larger family, or if you wash duvets and bedding. A bigger drum means fewer cycles per week and a longer machine life, because the motor runs less often.

Dryer type

A heat pump dryer uses about 50% less electricity than a condenser and runs at a lower temperature, which is gentler on fabrics. The cycle is slightly longer. A vented dryer is cheapest but needs a duct and is rare now.

Stacking

A washing machine and dryer can be stacked using the manufacturer's own connecting kit. Order it with the machines — tracking down the model-specific kit afterwards is more trouble. Stacking saves about 0.4 m² of floor in the utility room.

Why a premium machine lasts longer

Miele and ASKO build on a stainless steel frame and test to a considerably longer service life than an ordinary domestic appliance. That is why the same machines turn up in laundries and shared laundry rooms.

Do you also offer installation?

Yes. We install in Estonia and elsewhere in Europe. The price depends on the product, the location and the scope of work – we confirm it in your quote.

Do you deliver to Finland and other European countries?

Yes, we deliver across Europe. Delivery within Estonia costs €31–62 and is free on orders over €1,000; delivery to Finland costs €50, and to other European countries €31–124 depending on the order value. Prices may vary with weight, product and destination – the final price is confirmed after checkout.

Can I see the products before buying?

Yes, many models are on display in our showroom at Rästa 18, Tallinn (Mon–Fri 10–18, Sat 11–15). VIK AV OÜ has been selling kitchen appliances since 1994.
