Kitchen sink installation and use guide

I. Preparation
Choose the sink to match the base cabinet dimensions, and on receipt check its appearance and that everything is included. Defects must be reported within 7 days.
Provide a waste system of 50 / 40 mm internal drainage pipe beneath the sink. Fit it so that it sits 50–80 mm from the back wall of the cabinet. The pipe must have a 50 / 40 mm socket at a height of approximately 200 mm from the floor.

II. Installation
Do not fix the worktop to the cabinet before the sink has been fitted into the worktop.

1. Place the worktop on the cabinet and use the template supplied with the sink to find the right position. If there is no template, make one beforehand to the sink's dimensions.
2. Mark the cutting line on the worktop using the template and saw out the opening so that the line remains.
3. After sawing, treat the cut edge with lacquer or sanitary silicone. Apply silicone to the edge of the opening to seal it, or use the gasket supplied with the sink. Granite sinks have no gasket.
4. Place the sink on the floor upside down and lay the worktop on it, underside up. The sink then centres itself in the opening.
5. Fasten the sink with even force in a diagonal sequence. The clips must be pressed against the edge of the opening so there is sufficient clamping travel. Enamelled and granite sinks must be fastened very evenly and carefully. Avoid using a pneumatic or electric screwdriver.
6. Place the worktop with the sink onto the cabinet.
7. Following the instructions in the packaging, fit the wastes (bottom valves) and connect them to the waste pipe using traps.
8. Fitting a sink into a worktop already mounted on the cabinet should be avoided where possible. It needs two people: one presses the sink against the worktop while the other fastens it from below. This method is awkward.

9. Fitting a sink into a stone worktop.
The opening is cut by the stone fabricator. The clips supplied with the sink are suitable for fastening it.

10. Clips.
The clips are designed for worktops 24–40 mm thick. Spacers must be used with thinner worktops.

11. Care during installation.
Cover the sink while tiling and painting. Any dirt that gets onto the sink must be cleaned off IMMEDIATELY. Do not wash paintbrushes in the sink. Metal swarf, pipe putty and paint from the pipework must be removed at once and thoroughly. Take particular care with light-coloured sinks.

12. Tap installation.
We recommend using taps whose shape and technical specification are compatible.

Stainless steel sinks.
Many sinks have no holes for taps. The holes are made with the appropriate tool; if needed, ask the showroom to make them. Check that the installation is watertight and use silicone where necessary.
