What to check
- Aerators — mix air into the water, cutting splash and consumption; hard water blocks them first when pressure drops.
- Hoses — connection hoses are wear parts and worth replacing with the tap.
- Filter cartridges — system-specific; typical life is 6–12 months depending on hardness and use.
- Fixings — nuts, seals and adapters — most kitchen taps need a 35 mm hole, thick stone an extended kit.
