Short answer. Gaggenau's current range has two tiers:
- the 400 series, the flagship, with the Expressive design for ovens;
- the 200 series, compact and flush, with the Minimalistic design in Onyx or Sterling.
Both work with Gaggenau's modular Vario hobs and Vario cooling columns. You can plan a complete kitchen from one brand in a single design language.
Expressive vs Minimalistic: the new oven families
The two families replace Gaggenau's earlier oven design.

Both families come in left- or right-hinged versions. Choose the hinge side before the cabinet drawings are finalised.
Vario cooling: fridges and freezers as modules
Gaggenau's Vario cooling (Expressive series) is a set of fully integrated columns, each a separate appliance:
- refrigerators with fresh cooling close to 0 °C;
- freezers;
- fridge-freezers;
- wine coolers.
Widths are 45, 61, 76 and 90 cm, and the columns can be combined side by side into one cooling wall. For example, a 76 cm fridge next to a 61 cm freezer and a 46 cm wine cooler.
Hobs: Vario modules, induction and hobs with extraction
- Vario (400 series). Individual modules combined in one worktop line: induction, gas wok, teppan yaki and others, operated with control knobs. See Vario / Domino hobs.
- 200 series induction. Hobs 60–80 cm wide, with or without a steel frame.
- Hobs with integrated extraction (CV series). The extraction is built into the hob, and recirculation kits are available when you cannot duct outside. See hobs with extractor.
Extraction
- Downdraft extractors (AL 200/400 series, 80–120 cm) rise from the worktop behind the hob. See downdraft hoods.
- Ceiling and island canopy extractors, and built-in canopy extractors (60–120 cm).
- Remote fan units (400 series) move the motor out of the kitchen for lower noise.
Dishwashers
Fully integrated, 60 cm, in standard (81.5 cm) and XXL (86.5 cm) heights. “F” versions have a flexible hinge for taller furniture fronts. See dishwasher dimensions.
Three example Gaggenau kitchens
These are planning examples, not fixed packages.
1. The tall-cabinet wall (Expressive)
- Expressive 76 cm oven + Expressive 45 cm combi-steam oven stacked
- Warming drawer (21 cm) under the combi-steam oven
- Vario cooling: fridge column + freezer column side by side
- Vario hob modules on the worktop, with downdraft extraction
2. The architectural apartment kitchen (Minimalistic, Onyx)
- Minimalistic 60 cm oven + 45 cm combi-steam oven in Onyx
- Minimalistic coffee machine above a 14 cm warming drawer
- 200 series induction hob with a ceiling extractor
- Integrated dishwasher (standard height)
3. The island kitchen
- Hob with integrated extraction (CV) on the island, with a recirculation kit if ducting is not possible
- Oven column along the wall, Expressive or Minimalistic
- Wine cooler column (46 or 61 cm) facing the dining area
