Miele's Levantar range integrates extraction directly into the worktop next to the hob — the extractor sits flush with the counter rather than above it, an increasingly common choice for kitchens that want to keep the space above the hob completely open. The SmartLine range goes a step further and combines the hob and extractor into a single worktop element.
A handful of induction hobs in the KMDA range have the extraction built directly into the hob itself, with no separate worktop element at all. Classic wall- and ceiling-mounted hoods are still in range for kitchens that don't need a worktop-integrated solution.
