Premium kitchen appliances – from Miele, Gaggenau, ILVE or Küppersbusch, for example – should serve your kitchen for 15–20 years. The price of a given model is often similar from one seller to the next, but advice, delivery, installation and after-sales service differ a lot. Go through these seven points before you order.
1. Can the seller advise on dimensions and installation?
With built-in appliances, niche dimensions, ventilation openings and connections all matter. An experienced seller checks that the oven, fridge or hob you have chosen fits your kitchen units and recommends the right accessories. Ask for dimensions and installation drawings before you buy.
2. What warranty and consumer rights apply?
In the European Union, consumers can make a claim against the seller for defects within two years of receiving the goods. Also ask how repairs are organised and whom to contact if something goes wrong.
3. Can you see the products before buying?
Photos make it hard to judge materials, door quality or how easy a control panel is to use. In a showroom you can touch and compare products. The Luxtehnika showroom is at Rästa 18, Tallinn (Mon–Fri 10–18, Sat 11–15).
4. Who installs the appliances?
Built-in appliances must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions, otherwise both reliability and the warranty may suffer. Ask whether the seller offers installation and how the price is calculated. We install in Estonia and elsewhere in Europe; the price depends on the product, the location and the scope of work.
5. How fast is delivery and what does it cost?
Products in stock arrive quickly; items ordered in from the manufacturer can take several weeks, so ask about the lead time for the specific model. Delivery within Estonia costs €31–62 and is free on orders over €1,000; delivery to Finland costs €50, and to other European countries €31–124. See Delivery and installation for details.
6. Which payment methods are available?
For a larger purchase it matters that you can pay conveniently and securely. In our online shop you can pay by bank link or card (Montonio), with PayPal, or in instalments (ESTO).
7. Can you get the whole kitchen from one place?
